Rough Diamonds: Underrated Opportunities in Science, Technology, and Society
I already have a blog, but my posting schedule has been slow lately. More of my briefer thoughts have migrated to Twitter (@s_r_constantin), which I’m not entirely happy with, because it’s so ephemeral. Maybe newsletters are a happy medium.
I called this Substack “Rough Diamonds” because my aspiration with my writing/research projects is to find underrated opportunities worth pursuing. I’m not primarily a scholar, an entertainer, or an artist. I dig around in the research literature or in publicly available datasets, and sometimes I come up with surprising conclusions, or promising projects that haven’t reached much attention yet.
The hope is that some of these projects will inspire scientists, engineers, founders, or investors to pursue them further.
For now, this Substack is free. I’m happy at my job and don’t want to create conflicts of interest. I’m also not publicizing it until I build up more of a body of work and see if I can keep up a schedule of briefer, more frequent updates.
Meanwhile, to any readers stopping by, enjoy, and stay tuned!
